18 U.S.C. § 2257 Record-Keeping Requirements Compliance Statement

All visual depictions displayed on Motherless are exempt from the provisions of 18 U.S.C. § 2257 and 28 C.F.R. § 75 because they do not contain sexually explicit conduct as defined in 18 U.S.C. § 2256(2)(A)-(D), or because the content was produced by third-party uploaders — registered or anonymous — who are required to maintain the records required by 18 U.S.C. § 2257 and 28 C.F.R. § 75.
Uploader Obligations
All persons who upload content to Motherless — whether they have an account or upload anonymously — are required to:
- Maintain records verifying that all performers depicted were 18 years of age or older at the time the content was produced
- Retain copies of valid government-issued photo identification for all performers
- Make such records available to authorised government inspectors upon request
- Certify compliance at the time of each upload

Third-Party and Anonymous Content
Motherless is an interactive computer service as defined in 47 U.S.C. § 230(f)(2). Content uploaded by users — including anonymous uploads — is stored at the uploader's express direction. Motherless does not produce, direct, or commission any uploaded content. All uploaders, including those uploading without an account, are required to maintain the records required by 18 U.S.C. § 2257.
